Challenge
Underwriting teams at a major insurance company couldn't distinguish between three-tab asphalt roof shingles and concrete roof tiles across millions of homes using legacy aerial imagery. Though similarly colored, a concrete tile roof can cost 2–3x as much to replace as asphalt, making accurate roofing material identification critical to pricing policies correctly.
