Stormwater Infrastructure Monitoring in a Major U.S. City

Stormwater Infrastructure Monitoring in a Major U.S. City

Challenge

A major U.S. city needed to monitor stormwater and wastewater infrastructure across a dense urban environment. Following significant precipitation events, identifying underperforming or overburdened systems quickly is critical to protecting public health. Traditional inspection methods are too slow and resource-intensive to provide timely coverage at a city-wide scale.

Near Space Labs' Solution

Near Space Labs delivers 7cm resolution imagery across the city within 48 hours of major precipitation events. This enables city agency teams to remotely survey storm and wastewater infrastructure, identify underperforming systems, and prioritize response without waiting for ground crews to cover the area.

Outcome

City agency teams can now identify and respond to infrastructure stress faster, directing field resources where they are needed most. Rapid post-event imagery reduces the window between a weather event and actionable insight, supporting faster response and better outcomes for city residents.

The foundation for mission-critical analysis.
